Desert Diamond Memory Pavilion

Welcome to Desert Diamond Memory Pavilion

Desert Diamond Memory Pavilion is designed for seniors that have trouble thinking.  Our memory neighborhood provides long-term comfort and care for residents with cognitive impairment.  This expansive memory pavilion features 24/7 skilled nursing care, private studios and one-bedroom suites, large outdoor patio, multi-sensory therapy room, theatre, family visiting areas, dining room and hair salon.

Desert Diamond Memory Pavilion is a Montessori Inspired Lifestyle™ it is based on the educational philosophies of childhood educator Dr. Maria Montessori.  Dr. Cameron Camp discovered that Dr Montessori’s philosophies and principles could be effectively adapted as an approach for dementia care.  This method focuses on re-discovering and supporting the person behind the dementia.  Activities with meaning and purpose are put back into people’s lives, based on their needs, interests, skills and abilities.

Montessori’s methods help reduce and prevent challenging behaviors associated with dementia.  Boredom and loneliness are reduced through activities that embrace roles, routines, and improve self-awareness. Our smaller, secured, homelike setting provides an environment that is more familiar and less overwhelming for residents.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between advanced memory care and regular memory care?

Advanced memory care focuses on Alzheimer’s disease, vascular dementia, Lewy Body dementia, frontotemporal dementia, Parkinson’s disease dementia, and other forms of dementia. Sometimes, those with dementia need personalized care that caregivers cannot provide. In advanced skilled level memory care, residents’ needs are provided by trained RNs, CNAs, and a staff physician. Our recreational therapy director focuses on group and individual activities designed to fight boredom and anxiousness.

How do I know if my loved one needs advanced memory care?

It depends on several factors, and everyone is different:

  • Are they currently living at home or in an assisted living facility and struggling to meet all their needs?
